Funkl-Go gets you out and about, looking for flickering lamps. Please read these few points before you play.

1. Flashing lights – photosensitive epilepsy warning

Funkl-Go beacons flicker very quickly. They switch their light up to 240 times per second, with a base frequency of up to 120 Hz. The signal also contains slower parts in the range of about 1 to 35 Hz, and some people may notice these as flicker. When you trade Funkls, your iPhone's flashlight also flashes.

A small number of people can have seizures when they see flashing lights or patterns, even if they have never had a seizure or epilepsy before.

• If you or anyone in your family has epilepsy or has had seizures, talk to a doctor before playing.
• Stop playing immediately and see a doctor if you notice dizziness, blurred vision, eye or muscle twitching, loss of awareness, disorientation, involuntary movements or convulsions.
• Do not stare into a beacon or a flashlight for long. You only need to point the camera at it, not look at it.
• Play in a well-lit place, keep a reasonable distance and take breaks.
• Even without epilepsy, flicker can cause headaches, eye strain or discomfort in some people. If it does, stop.

2. Traffic and your surroundings

• Watch where you are going. Do not look at your phone while crossing a street.
• Never use the app while driving, riding a bike, scooter or motorbike.
• Stay on paths and sidewalks, and look out for other people, steps, cyclists and obstacles.
• Do not play in dangerous places such as railway tracks, construction sites, water edges or busy roads.
• In the dark, stay in places you know and that are well lit.

3. Respect places and people

• Do not enter private property, closed areas or business premises without permission or against the owner's wishes. A beacon on the map is not an invitation to go anywhere.
• Follow house rules in shops and public places, and be considerate.
• Shops with beacons do not expect you to buy anything.

4. Meeting people to trade

Trading works face to face. Meet in public places, only trade with people you trust, and never share your device key or player account.

5. Look after yourself

Take breaks, drink enough water, dress for the weather and tell someone where you are going if you head somewhere unfamiliar.
